Experience

In the past few years, most of the hot button issues in our community have centered around Real Estate Development Projects.  As a community, we've had much debate over potential zoning changes, a potential community center development, building a new city hall and police station as well as how best to continue the residential development of our city in the future.  These arguments back and forth on the issues have often been loud, lacking or bending the truth, and have made analysis of these projects difficult for many within the city. Fortunately, I think I can help out here.

I’ve spent the last 10 years of my professional life working in specialized real estate finance, helping to provide much needed capital for community projects that would have never gotten off of the ground without it. Within that realm, I’ve garnered much experience in real estate development working alongside Developers, Real Estate Brokers and General Contractors to ensure project completions being on-time, on/under budget, and on track when issues have come up (and they always come up).

I’ve also spent many years lending to small businesses through the use of private placement bonds, direct loans and through real estate leasing structures with hundreds of clients. I believe this professional experience will help serve me well on the city council  as it relates to current and future development opportunities within our city. It will also help to better ensure that any spending on these projects is properly scrutinized, vetted and stays on track while using my thorough background in these issues along the way.

Representing our city also means representing everyone in it. Though my primary responsibility will be to the constituents in Ward 4, my decisions can also impact the entire city as a whole. Our city seems divided at city meetings as well as online, but when I walk our streets and attend community events, those things seem to be less apparent. We need to ensure that we have leaders building bridges to everyone in the city, especially those who don't have the time or capability to attend city meetings or watch them after the fact.  Part of ensuring a knowledgable and interested community is using direct, effective communication methods which I'll be doing from the start of my campaign through my term on city council.
